Admissions

Admission to Reception Class

All applications for Reception Class are coordinated by Liverpool City Council.

Springwood Heath Primary School follows the admission arrangements determined by Liverpool City Council. All Liverpool schools follow coordinated admission arrangements and an equal preference scheme to allocate places in primary schools.

The purpose of coordinated admission arrangements is to ensure parents receive a single offer of a school place for their child on the same day.

Applications must be made online via the Liverpool City Council website. If you require support with your application, please contact the Admissions Team on 0151 233 3006. The school is unable to provide paper application forms.

The closing date for applications for September admission is in January.

Children are admitted to the Reception Class in the September of the academic year in which they turn 5 years old. The published admission number (PAN) for Springwood Heath Primary School is 30. All applications and allocations are managed by Liverpool City Council, and the school is unable to offer places directly.

For further advice about admission procedures, please contact Liverpool City Council or visit one of their One Stop Shops. You can also refer to the Primary Admissions information booklet using the link below.

Admission into Enhanced Resource Provision

All children in our Enhanced Resource Provision (ERP) must have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

Our ERP supports children with:

 • Medical needs

• Physical needs

• Severe learning difficulties

We currently offer 60 places within our ERP and the provision is heavily oversubscribed.

The Local Authority will consult with the school and send your child’s EHCP for consideration to ensure that we are able to meet their needs. The Headteacher and Inclusion Manager carefully review each EHCP and provide a recommendation to the Local Authority.

The final decision regarding placement is made by the Local Authority. If it is agreed that Springwood Heath is an appropriate setting, the Local Authority will allocate a place.
